Of Pergolas, Fountains and Roses

On the 6th October 2017, Artemisia Fine Arts & Antiques Ltd.’s directors, Franco & Christina Busuttil met with Melina Scodanibbio and Eliza Costabel from The Garden Studio to eagerly finalise the landscaping aspects of their project. The results of previous meetings were simply mindblowing!

Sprawed across some 2 tumoli (2000sqm) of land are Artemisia’s private, formal gardens; a curious marriage between the classically Italianate and romantic British garden. Order balanced out with a beautifully feminine softness.

The grounds were designed to cater for clients and small groups visiting the gallery, particularly in the event of attending lectures, small scale auctions, get togethers and musical recitals amongst other events.

‘I want people to visit the gardens and feel as if they are in the perfect place to relax and  ponder, away from the hustle and bustle that seems to be encroaching upon every nook and cranny of the island. I believe in the power of nature and its ability to seduce our senses; I believe it is at this juncture that Man is most susceptible to the notions of beauty. It is only then that I believe my friends and clients will take home the full impact of the experience I’m trying to deliver.’

– Christina Busuttil

The project promises to be the first of its kind in Malta and aims to be completed by March 2018.
